Recent Programme Update Of GVP (August, 2014)
A scheme in association with Govt. of India has been formulated by NABARD to bring out a viable and self sustainable model for promotion and financing of women self help group by involving an anchor NGO in each of the selected 113 backward district of the country.
Gandhi Vichar Parisad had since been selected an anchor NGO for formation, nurturing and bank linkage of women SHG in LWE affected Bankura district vide letter no. NB (WB) MCID/686/B-2(197)

WSHG Livelihood
Women self help group has involved with the several type of income generating programme (IGP) with the help of bank loan such as – Goatery, Fishery, Bel mala. Bamboo Work, Tailoring, Sal leaf Plate Making, Agriculture (Vegetable garden), Readymade Garments, Perched Rice, Duckery, Fishing Hook, Stone Curving, Cow Rearing etc.
Industrial Gloves Training & Production Unit
Total Skilled Workers -15; all are women. -Durgapur, Local market. Monthly production 8-10 thousands pairs. Type of gloves- Leather and cotton both.
NABARD - Capacity Building of WSHGs, Field Workers
NABARD capacity building of WSHG field workers etc.-21 Nos. NABARD had initiated 21 nos. of capacity building training proramme for the Field workers on WSHG management and livelihood program
Vocational Training Support of German Consulted : Micro- Project with Gandhi Vichar Parisad, Bankura
The German Consulate and Gandhi Vichar Parisad are pleased to announce that a Micro Project contract with Gandhi Vichar Parisad of Bankura has been signed n the 7th August at the German Consulate office in Kolkata. The financial support will be given for developing their Industrial Hand Gloves Training unit at Schooldanga, Bankura.

Project Name-Training of Industrial Hand Gloves for SHG Members , funded by West Bengal Swarojgar corporation Ltd.
A Special Training Programme of Industrial hand gloves for the woman of S.H.G members of Bankura District had been launched by Gandhi Vichar Parisad with financial support from Swarojgar Corporation Ltd. Govt. of West Bengal under the Ministry of S.H.G and S.E on 21st January, 2013.
Following Dignitaries were present at the inaugural ceremony:

- Mr. Dibyanarayan Chatterjee ( District- S.H.G Officer)
- Mr. Mrinal Kanti Mondal (DPD ,DRDC, Bankura)
- Mr. Aswaini Kundu (DDA, Agriculture )
- Mr. Saradindu Banerjee (Secretary, Gandhi Vichar Parisad )
- Mr. Susil Kr. Adhya (Chairman, Gandhi Vichar Parisad)
The members of the staff, Governing Body members, Representatives from NGOs, Media, Government officials and Trainee participants were present in the opening event.
The meeting was presided over by Shri Susil Kumar Adhya, the Chairman of Gandhi Vichar Parisad.
Shri Saradindu Banerjee, Secretary, Gandhi Vichar Parisad delivered welcome address. At the outset of his speech he conveyed his thanks and best wishes to the members attended the meeting and expressed gratefulness to West Bengal Swarojgar Corporation Limited department of SHG, SE for giving the opportunity to Gandhi Vichar Parisad for working with women development programme.
He highlighted regarding aim and objectives of Gandhi Vichar Parisad and also the objectives of this Training Camp. He expected that this Training Programme must enhance the income of the women as well as the income of the family. It will ensure the economic and social upliftment of the woman and requested the Municipality chairperson and others attending in the meeting to help the trainees by giving any type of marketing opportunity of the product. He informed that before going to undertake the training the Gandhi Vichar Parisad has conducted marketing survey of Industrial hands gloves. There is some opportunity in ISSCO Burnpur, DSP (Durgapur Steel Plant). He also requested the Chairperson of Bankura Municipality to help with marketing opportunity of the product.
The member in charge for SHG & SE Mr. Shanti Ram Mahato and the officio of West Bengal Swarojgar Corporation were to present at the inaugural festival, but due to unavoidable circumstances they could not come to opening ceremony. The Bankura Municipality Chairperson Mrs. Shampa Daripa inaugurated this programme by lighting the Lamp. In her inaugural address praised the activities of Gandhi Vichar Parisad and also thanked West Bengal Swarojgar Corporation and Gandhi Vichar Parisad for initiating this type of livelihood training Programme for the woman. She wished all the achievement of the programme and assured to help in proving marketing opportunity of the product.
District Development manager (DDM) NABARD, Bankura, Mr. Subrata Bandyopadhyay focused specially on legal status for being an entrepreneur, like registration under District Industrial Centre, No Objection Certificate (NOC), and Pollution Certificate. He also added that it is very important to search for market viability and business opportunities prior to start any entrepreneur. It is also request to enhance the capacity of members and stuffs on costings, accounts management and maintaining quality of the product.
District SHG Officer, Mr. Dibya Narayan Chatterjee conveyed thanks to Gandhi Vichar Parisad for undertaking various development programme especially for the women development. He also informed regarding multipurpose Govt. training programme for employment generation. But we should not be satisfied by organizing training programme, it should be implemented in real sincerity. He assured to give all type of training opportunity to Gandhi Vichar Parisad by which the most downtrodden people can find out their way of development.
Mr. Mrinal Mondal DPD, DRDC, Bankura encouraged the participants of the training to achieve their goal successfully. He pointed out that as market viability is very much important so it should be the challenge to ensure the market. He assured to extend their helping hand and kind co-operation in this regard. He requested, in future this programme should be disseminated in a larger scale in every blocks in the district.
Susil Kumar Adhya, the Chairman of Gandhi Vichar Parisad conveyed his thanks and best wishes to the dignitaries, media, civil society personalities and the trainees and other members attended the meeting. He encouraged the trainee and declared the end of the meeting expecting successful achievement of the programme.

- Running two galleries (a) Gandhi Museum (b) Bankura Freedom Fighter’s Gallery at GVP campus.
- One library is running at GVP campus.
